Restoration Anglican Church began its story back in January of 2009. In the early days, the church consisted of about 75 adults and children who met for worship at one service in a little brick church on N. Quincy Street in Arlington, Virginia. A few months later the church added another service and before they knew it they added a third. By that time Restoration Anglican realized they had outgrown their current worship center and needed to expand. In the fall of 2012, members and friends of Restoration Anglican began a capital campaign titled “Responding to God’s Grace” in hopes to gain enough pledges to be able to make the church’s vision come true. Through God’s great provision, Restoration Anglican was able to raise over $2.4 million in pledges for the new worship center.
In 2013, Restoration Anglican hired Scott-Long Construction to demolish the old church and make way for the construction of the new three-story 12,700 SF church. The first floor of the new church is equipped with eight classrooms and an assembly room. Leading up to the second floor of the church, parishioners are greeted with a dramatic two-level entry and curved, dual stairway with ornamental railings. The traditional, 375 seat sanctuary is adorned with natural wood and cork flooring, and detailed woodwork.
Today, the new facility is serving as a tremendous tool for ministry. The new facility was built for the purpose of furthering the mission of helping the people of Arlington, Virginia connect to God, to others, and to the needs of the world. Today, that mission continues to be lived out. People are experiencing what it means to be loved, forgiven, healed, and empowered by Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit. At Restoration, people not only worship together, they do life together and bring people into restoration from the messiness of real life.
