Do you know what a Special Exception is? Or maybe you’ve heard it called a Special Use Permit?
Almost anytime you plan to change the footprint of a building, you will have to go through your jurisdictional process to get approved for special use permit. They usually require many more months than you would expect, and typically require you to hire a real estate attorney, civil engineer and architect way before you are ready to start raising money.
